Perdido Key Beach Trip

At the end of our time in Jackson we went to the beach for a few days. It was a nice and quiet place that was very relaxing and full of some adventurous firsts for Mimi. But I have to include some pictures of Mimi and Papaw's new cats Lucy and Callie.

Jack carried Lucy around everywhere and Emma loved Callie. So they each had a cat...and that worked out well! Now on to the beach:

Loved searching for seashells and crabs. They named all of them like they were their pets.

Mimi doesn't swim. Ever. I think she and Papaw said they haven't even been in a swimming pool in 20 years. So Will decided to challenge her a bit and get her to swim across the pool and eventually put her face in. She did it!

Jumping off the side of the pool over and over again.

And Mimi has never been in the ocean before. She was afraid it would pull her out, so once again Will was determined to get her in the water.

She did it again! So adventurous...that Mimi. And then they were hit repeatedly by waves and I couldn't stop laughing and taking pictures.

Will's favorite thing in the world...rainbow dippin dots. He jumped out of the car in torrential rain to get some.

Emma finally got some feathers in her hair. She's been asking for them all summer, and we finally found a place. She absolutely loves them...supposed to stay in 3 months...we'll see.

Snuggling with Mimi at night watching cartoons.

Emma and her favorite....Ducky

Jack and his favorite....Boo

Jack's spot sitting on the back of the couch looking out the window at the pool on one side and watching cartoons on the other side. Usually holding some army men.

Plugged in...listening to a movie and playing the DS.

Watching a movie and eating his favorite Skittles. This was his choice of a present to get from the beach. All he wanted was a pack of Skittles and a little water cannon...boys are easy to please.

And then we got home to our bug infested apartment. We've had all kinds these past 3 months...roaches, spiders, beetles, crickets. We have about 40 traps out that are always loaded with bugs...it's pretty gross. My two worst bug fears have happened here: I woke up one night to a roach crawling on my neck and a spider fell on me in the shower. Horrible. I had to take a picture of the spider that has built a web attached to the bug trap...it's mocking me.

And since we've been gone for 9 days we now have a fruit fly infestation. Awesome.
