Ally - 7 months old

Our baby girl is now 7 months old. I stopped nursing the day she turned 6 months old in hopes that she would finally start gaining weight. And did she ever! At her appointment this month she had gained 3 pounds! That's about 20% of her body weight. She now weighs 14 pounds. I'm so gad she's finally filling out and eating really well. I'm not too sure what happened with us nursing, but it was a good 6 months and hopefully she got all the good stuff she needs. She now drinks 4 bottles a day (about 7 ounces each) and 3 meals. I'm making her baby food so she typically eats fruits in the morning, vegetables at lunch and cereal with avocado at dinner. She loves to eat apples, bananas and mangoes for breakfast along with a galleta. For lunch she's been eating nanpi, camote, carrots, and green beans. She's such a good eater and loves trying new things. What a good little tica.

She loves to copy whatever you do especially coughing. She also gets really shy and ducks her head on me when people try to talk to her. She is so easy-going and is so interested in everything around her. A friend of mine made a sling for me to carry her around and she absolutely loves it. I've carried her around in it for 3 days straight and she hangs out, eats, and sleeps in it. So great!

We're looking forward to finally taking her back to the States with us. It's still so strange that so many people we love haven't even met her yet. I hope she's ready to meet some people! We feel so blessed to have a happy and healthy baby girl. We love you Ally.

Still loves to stand
Ally and me with Dr. Molina for the last time. He was there for her birth and we've seen him every month since. He's been an excellent doctor and we couldn't be happier with our medical experience here in Costa Rica.
